Construction of a movement vocabulary with a juggling ball
Aim of practice: construction of movement vocabulary
Number of participans: 1
Time: 20 min
1. The participant throws a juggling ball from hand to hand and tries to find three (most interesting ways) to throw it.
2. He/She repeats the three ways for the body to remember them as well as possible.
3. He/She puts away the existing ball and tries to repeat all three ways, as accurately as possible with an imaginary ball.
4. When he/she is sure that the movements are accurate, he/she tries to change their range. The participant reduces and enlarges the movements on a scale from 1 to 10, trying not to miss any of the movements and not to add any new movement.
5. The participant tries to apply the same scale (1 to 10) to the speed of movement.
6. The participant then plays with the scales of speed and size of movement and uses them as a choreographic language, that tries to express or establish a dialogue in pairs.
